CUNY Task Force on Sustainability Conference October 31, 2008
Thursday October 31, 2008 Dr. Stuart Schulman, Executive Director of the Center for Economic and Workforce Development spoke at CUNY’s first annual CUNY Task Force on Sustainability Conference. The day long conference was held at the Graduate Center from 9am to 4:30 pm.Leaders from government, business and CUNY academia lead the workshops and discussion panels that addressed key issues such as Energy, Research, Facilities, Procurement, and Recycling are designed to assist participants in carrying CUNY's sustainability plans forward. The conference was the first assembly of Sustainability stakeholders: the Sustainability Committees, 19 Campus Sustainability Council Executives and their Campus Council Members and Core Team Leaders.

Kingsborough Community College, together with the Brooklyn Economic Development Corporation (BEDC), facilitated the first “Green Advantage” Training in New York City.

Kingsborough Community College’s Center for Economic and Workforce Development and Office of Continuing Education in conjunction with the Center for Kosher Culinary Arts inaugurated the only professional kosher cooking school in North America.
